Hey again!

I went to my Facebook page and took questions regarding anything about makeup and answered a few of them for you. Please enjoy my first podcast and thanks for listening!

Post #12: The Snapchat Filter Challenge!

So I've noticed that the Snapchat filter popularity has grown immensely and they come out with brand new filters every day! Recently, they added a "pop art" style filter that turns you into a comic book character and today I wanted to share my attempt at recreating it on myself!

Hope you enjoy this video and thanks for watching!

Post #11: Main Products used for Wonder Woman Headband!

NEW. FAVORITE. PRODUCT.

I usually severely dislike any products I get at a costume shop (they are usually fairly cheap in price AND quality), but this one is different.

For about $10, you can get this Mehron Metallic Powder in Gold at Party America.

All you do is shake a small amount of gold powder into a container ( I used a shot glass) and mix it with the Mixing Liquid it comes with. It created a solid gold metal liquid that you use to paint on a perfect gold shimmer.

As someone obsessed with makeup who loves anything shiny and shimmery, I was in heaven.

I have a feeling I will be using this more in the future.

For the shading, I used my Morphe 35O palette you saw in the last video with a small eyeshadow brush!

I also wanted to mention one of my favorite lipsticks which is by Meltcosmetics in the color "noOd."

Find it here: http://www.meltcosmetics.com/products/nood

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you next time!

Post #10: The Wonder Woman Challenge!

In honor of the new Batman VS Superman: Dawn of Justice movie, I decided to try to do a Wonder Woman look! I couldn't find any tutorials on the new crown/headband she wears in the movie, so I decided to make one in case there is anyone on the internet world that will eventually come looking for one!

I used the Mehron Metallic Powder in Gold to create the headband (which I will show you in the next post) and added some details and shading with some brown shadows.

I also learned (kinda) how to use a green screen! Enjoy!

Post #9: Products used in the half-skull mask.

Here is a more detailed look at the main products I used in my last video.

This was a cheap white costume makeup I purchased from Party America. I DO NOT recommend it as I'm sure there are other better products out there.

A better alternative is the Mehron brand, they do carry it at Party America but they were out when I went to purchase it.

I also used MAC's fluid line gel in Blacktrack for the black paint and used a small brush to apply it.

And lastly, I used MAC's matte black eyeshadow in Carbon for shading the rest!

It is now April, girls and boys, which means we have 6 more months until Halloween. I wanted to show you a cool half-skull mask that I recreated from a tutorial by Youtuber Chrisspy. Here is the original video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npFbx6MtF8c

I didn't do it EXACTLY like this, because the texture of the white makeup didn't really allow it. I bought some cheap white cream makeup from Party America and it started cracking almost right away.

I was still fairly happy with the results and you can see it here:

Post #7: Products from the No Mirror Challenge!

As promised, here are most of the products I used in my last video for the No Mirror Makeup Challenge.

First up is my favorite drug-store foundation. This is the Maybelline Fit Me! Foundation in 120 "Classic Ivory." You can get this from any CVS, Walgreens or Wal-mart and this is the Dewy and Smooth finish. If you like more of a matte look, they have that option as well.

I also love this Tarte Amazonian Clay matte bronzer in the color Park Avenue Princess. After years of searching for a non-orange, non-ashy bronzer, I have found the perfect hue in this one. This one is a little pricier and you can find it at your local Sephora.

For my beautiful eyebrows in my last video, you can use this fantastic eyebrow pomade by Anastasia Beverly Hills in Dark Brown (also found at Sephora or Macys.com).

And this is what I REALLY wanted to share; my favorite eyeshadow palette at the moment, which is the Morphe 35O (orange shades) palette. This is one of the most affordable kits I have ever bought for the quality and you can find it at morphebrushes.com.

Please comment for any questions! I will continue to show you the products I am using and thanks for reading!

Post #6: The No Mirror Challenge!

Hi viewers!

I wanted to try a challenge I've seen on Youtube a few times before - the "No Mirror" Challenge! Without using a mirror or camera monitor, I applied a face of makeup and I manage not to poke any of my eyes out.

In the next post, I will show you what products I used in this video and will continue to do so throughout the rest of my video entries! Please like and/or subscribe and I will see you all next time.

Post #5: The Do It Yourself Challenge!

Hello again, spring breakers!

Hopefully you all enjoyed a week off and got a chance to do some travelling.

I, on the other hand, got to spend some time enjoying the beautiful Topeka weather and I spent a fun day with my friend Amelia! She let me film her while I told her how to put makeup on her face, which is a lot harder to do than I thought.  The entire time we were shooting, I wanted to jump in and show her what to do, but I restrained myself and the results weren't half bad.  Enjoy the video and hopefully you laugh at us as much as we did.

As always, thanks for watching!

Post #4: The "Wet N' Wild" Challenge

FINALLY. A challenge that did not turn out well at all whatsoever. In fact, it was quite the train wreck and my eyes are still stinging with the memory of cheap, melted chemically-spawned eyeshadow.

Wet N' Wild is a brand of cosmetics that is known for it's affordability. You can usually find its section in the very back of the makeup aisle, like the red-headed stepchild that it is.  Optimistically, I decided to try out a few products that seemed promising. Here was the result...

Post #3: The One Product Challenge!

This week I wanted to try something I have seen a few people do, but haven't tried myself! I used one product (MAC eyeshadow in Cranberry) on my eyes, cheeks and lips.  If you like this look, or just the shadow itself, you can find it at ANY MAC counter or store location. There is one in Topeka within the Dillard's store at West Ridge mall, which I have a map for down below.  Hope you like it and thanks for watching!

This week I recorded a new makeup challenge video called the "Hands-On" challenge! Basically, I had to apply a whole face of makeup using the products alone (NO tools or brushes).  It opened my eyes to how much a good brush can do. This was totally for fun and not a real tutorial by any means unless you don't own any makeup brushes or they are against everything you stand for. Feel free to suggest any ideas you may have and thanks for watching!

Post #1: Welcome to The Makeup Challenge!

Hey everyone! My name is Mandy Daniels and I am a Mass Media (with an emphasis in Creative Advertising) student at Washburn University. I have a passion for beauty and cosmetics and I wanted to share that with all of you! I have recently gotten into filming and editing videos and I'm learning how to use Adobe Premiere Pro, so the majority of media you will see here will be tutorials or vlogs.

This blog is a place for me to let loose a little bit and challenge myself with anything makeup related for your entertainment. Every week will be something new and I am always open to suggestions! Thanks for viewing my blog and I hope you have as much fun as I do!
